Louis B. Ferstadt (1900-1954)
“Louis Ferstadt was born in Ukraine, Russia in 1900. He was a painter, muralist, sculptor, and illustrator. He studied at the Art Students League of New York and was a member of the National Society of Mural Painters, Salons of America, the Society of Independent Artists, and worked under the Federal Arts Project. His works have been exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Brooklyn Museum, the Carnegie Institute, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy, Salons of America, Society of Independent Artists, and Whitney Museum of American Art. He died in New York City in 1954.”
