"A painter of landscapes, especially snowscenes, and a dioramist, Basil Martin was also a designer, and craftsman. From 1936, he was in charge of exhibits for the United States Forest Service and lived in Fairfax, Virginia.He was born in Chelmsford, England and studied at the Chelsea School of Art in London."
